As Kitchen Manager, you will oversee the kitchen’s daily administrative, operational, and culinary tasks. You will be assisting in a variety of duties including daily kitchen operations, supervising kitchen staff and ensuring the kitchen area meets health and safety requirements. You should have creativity and passion for food and be able to enhance the overall dining experience for our customers while assisting in leading our kitchen team.

Kitchen Manager Responsibilities at Catherine Rooney’s:
– Supervising the set-up and food areas within the kitchen
– Managing staffing levels which will include hiring and weekly scheduling of staff
– Oversee all food purchasing/procurement and inventory assistance
– Ensure that all systems are clearly communicated to team members and carried out on a daily basis including opening/closing checklists, line check/temp logs, and daily/weekly cleaning lists
– Maintain cleanliness and organization in all cooking and storage areas; ensure your entire team upholds expected sanitary practices and safe food handling per federal and state requirements
– Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance, repairs and replacements when necessary
– Oversee food preparation and confirm that all recipes and procedures are followed properly to maintain consistency
– Oversee execution of all orders and food presentation, while maintaining prompt ticket times, to provide the best dining experience for every guest
– Assist in cross training staff in different areas of the kitchen to build and maintain a dynamic team
– Assist in creating daily/weekly specials and ensure cost of each item aligns with our expectations and customer base
– Assist in new menu creation, presentation and execution

– Minimum of three years of prior kitchen culinary management experience
– Culinary coursework a plus
– ServSafe certified
– Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes day, night and weekend hours
– General understanding of nutrition and menu planning
– Steady working history in culinary and/or restaurant management
– Motivated to work in a team environment
– Excellent communication and leadership skills
– Highly organized
– Capable of delegating multiple tasks
– Neat, clean and professional appearance
