Asst. Cook for a church-owned camp/conference/retreat center.

We have an immediate Seasonal Assistant Cook Position open for our Christian Church Conference Center in Bethany Beach, DE.  The Church Camp/Conference facility hosts groups of 15 to 80 guests all summer and on weekends in the fall.

Duties include assisting the Lead Cook in the Food Service operations (including meal prep) to support cooking healthy meals & plan purchase orders, ensuring sanitary food prep, and training kitchen assistants.  This position will serve as back-up to and support for the lead cook , assisting the Conference Center Manager who has responsibility for the entire center.

We have a separate on-site Dining Hall/Commercial Kitchen building.  Shared staff housing on-site may also be available.

This position must be available for a combination of 15 breakfast, lunch & dinner shifts per 7-day period May-Sept and five meal shifts on most weekends Sept through October.

Employment is contingent on having or acquiring (within 21 calendar days) a National Restaurant Association “ServSafe Food Safety Mgr” Certification, positive reviews from your references, and the ability to pass background checks for working at a Church camp where children and youth events are held.
